About Us
We are a family run independent pharmacy – run by husband and wife team John and Aoibheann Sheppard for the past 16 years. We have a fantastic team of staff who are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Ballybay and the surrounding areas.
We aim to provide a lifelong service to all our customers from newborn to the elderly. Being in a mainly rural area, we like to provide a wide range of products, so our customers don’t have to look too far to find everything they need from prescriptions, health and lifestyle advice, first aid, dental, baby products, photographic services, health supplements to tanning products, cosmetic, skincare and haircare. We also have a large, dedicated giftware section making Ballybay Pharmacy a one-stop-shop.

Blood pressure can be a silent killer. Your blood pressure could be at dangerous levels without you showing any symptoms. Call into our pharmacy any time and one of our pharmacy team will measure your blood pressure for free.
Emergency Contraception
The emergency contraceptive pill (the “morning-after pill”) can be taken after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. It is available directly from our pharmacy without a doctor’s prescription to those over 17 years of age, subject to meeting certain criteria. The emergency contraception service is available free of charge to medical cardholders.
